YK Pao President School Xu YongchuDirector of the Wison Museum Xun WangI attended the opening ceremony with great figures from other disciplines such as arts, politics and education.

“Other” is divided into four sections. Section A is occupied by saturated bright colors and oil paintings. Coordinating lights and colors, this room creates fun overtones. Section B displays dozens of grayscale drawings, paintings, photographs, long, narrow spaces, and dim lighting that expresses disappointing emotions. Section C primarily exhibits photographs and videos, as light, shadows and text create a dreamlike atmosphere. Section D includes extensive installations and collages, natural light and curved walls, revealing the artist’s bold ingenuity and innovation. The four exhibition halls are arranged in sequence, allowing the viewer to experience a visual journey to the artist’s mind.

At the opening ceremony, Madame Shoe introduced the “Other” art exhibition as the first off-campus art exhibition for YK Pao’s International Baccalaureate (IB) visual arts students. This exhibition is very important as the first step for students from the Ivory Tower to the real world. As Madame Shu pointed out, “Youth perspectives are unique. YK Pao School IB art students are always creatively inspired by observing the trivial and beautiful parts of their daily lives. These vibrant, dynamic and distinctive artworks represent the pursuit of art and its reflection in reality. Observe and think in the mindset of the artist. Learning that is an important skill for any artist, and I am confident that this exhibition will help students at Yue-Kong Pao School continue to develop their abilities. “

curator Eric Tan He introduced that the theme “Miscellaneous” refers to an exhibition that shows the complexity, versatility, and events of our daily lives. Most of the works on display are chosen from the seemingly chaotic lives of the students. In the process of their creation, they allow them to think outside the box. Through diverse and vibrant works of art, students portray beautiful fragments of life and express criticisms of reality. Each piece is intrigued in its own way, and it can be argued that each piece reflects the artist’s unrestrained mind. “

After the opening ceremony, visitors were free to enjoy the numerous works exhibited. “This is a visual feast, but also a spiritual journey. Standing in front of these works created by a young artist, I am the untouched, thought-provoking inner of this group of young artists. I was surprised by the world. The carefully arranged works also gave me a novel psychological experience, “commented Liu, the viewer of the exhibition. The exhibition will continue until the 30th of this month. 9 am to 6 pm every day. The art gallery can be accessed directly from Metro Line 13.

At the end of the day, the work of the “Miscellaneous” exhibition highlights the unique perspectives of the younger generation and provides an overall eye-opening experience.
